Healing Belongs at Home – Dr. Charu Dutt Arora’s Powerful TEDx Greenfield Talk

Hilton Baani Gurugram recently came alive with inspiring stories and groundbreaking ideas at TEDx Greenfield, licensed and organised by Ms. Priyanka Behl. The event brought together a diverse line-up of speakers – from entrepreneurs and social activists to educators and artists – each adding their unique voice to the day’s vibrant tapestry of thought.

Among these voices was Dr. Charu Dutt Arora, Consultant Physician in Geriatrics, Palliative Care, and Infectious Diseases at AmeriHealth, Asian Hospital, whose talk, “Healing Belongs at Home”, struck a deep emotional chord. Drawing from years of medical practice, Dr. Arora highlighted how care at home preserves dignity, strengthens emotional bonds, and often leads to better outcomes – especially for the elderly and those with chronic illnesses. He urged for a shift in healthcare systems towards more compassionate, patient-centric models, underlining that medicine is as much about empathy as it is about science.

The event also reflected the heart of TEDx Greenfield’s broader mission – a social development initiative that has adopted nearly 500 underprivileged children for education, distributed essential items to underserved communities, and consistently worked to create opportunities where they are needed most. Ms. Behl’s vision has positioned TEDx Greenfield not just as a platform for ideas worth spreading, but as a movement for tangible change on the ground.

As the audience rose in applause, Dr. Arora’s message was clear: “Healing doesn’t always begin in a hospital – sometimes, it begins in the comfort of home, surrounded by love.” His words, and the day’s collective energy, left no doubt that change begins when compassion meets action.
