Apex IIT Alumni Body PanIIT & PeakMind Sign MoU to Drive Student Safety and Wellbeing Initiatives

New Delhi, 15 August 2025: PeakMind, India’s new-age platform for student safety, holistic wellbeing, and peak performance, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PanIIT Alumni India, the apex body representing all IIT alumni associations. Together, they are launching MANTRA – “Live IIT Fully”, a national initiative designed to enhance student wellbeing, resilience, and mentorship across IIT campuses.

Addressing the Growing Concern of Student Mental Health

With increasing concerns over mental health challenges and suicides in India’s premier educational institutions, MANTRA offers a comprehensive framework to safeguard and empower students. The initiative combines the wisdom of IIT alumni with advanced digital solutions to provide:

    • Real-world mentorship from experienced IIT alumni.

    • One-on-one and group mentoring programs to guide students through academic and personal challenges.

    • AI-powered wellbeing tools from PeakMind, including:

      • A 24×7 digital student companion.

      • Personalized mental health and wellness resources.

      • Emergency response features.

      • Daily mind training sessions.

    • Data-driven risk detection and suicide prevention systems for institutions.

Leaders Speak on the Vision Behind MANTRA

“As an alumni body, our responsibility goes beyond professional success. We must also stand by our students in their personal journeys. Through MANTRA, we aim to create a culture of care, mentorship, and emotional strength, so every IITian can truly live their journey to the fullest,”
Shri Prabhat Kumar, Chairman, PanIIT Alumni India.

The rollout of MANTRA begins this semester, with a vision to cover all IITs and eventually extend the program to other leading Indian institutions.

“Every student who enters IIT comes with huge hope and aspiration of building a happy and successful life. But quickly, these expectations can turn into overwhelming pressure. Our aim is to save every life from self-harm, and ensure that students don’t just succeed, but thrive — emotionally, mentally, and socially. With MANTRA, we bring together the lived wisdom of IIT alumni and new-age digital tools to create a safe, thriving space for every IIT student,”
Neeraj Kumar, Co-founder & CEO, PeakMind.
