Bisbo Records proudly announces its partnership with Odd Music for the release of “Shuddho Prem”, the explosive new single by Kolkata/Goa-based electro-pop duo Death by Anjuna, comprising Q (aka Doktorgandu) and The Burning Deck.
A hypnotic 140 BPM Bangla Pop groovefest, “Shuddho Prem” fuses The Burning Deck’s deep electronic soundscapes with Q’s razor-edged Bengali rap, layered with the haunting hook of Ganja Kumari. The track reimagines an old song by Mansur Faqir, grinding and distilling it into its most primal form while offering a bold, alternate take both musically and philosophically.
Speaking about the song, Q shares:
“I found an innate connection between this old song, featured in my film Love in India, and my rap from Gandu, ‘Neel Chhobi.’ Both explore the power of sexuality and the social anxieties around it. With Shuddho Prem, we wanted to create a downtempo Bangla dance track that people could truly swing to.”
Shuddho Prem also marks the first release from Odd Music, a brand-new label dedicated to producing forward-looking Bangla Pop by artists who are unafraid to experiment and innovate.
This launch is especially significant as Odd Music joins hands with Bisbo Records, aligning perfectly with Bisbo’s vision of nurturing India’s next generation of independent voices.
Shakir Ebrahim, Founder of Bisbo Records, says:
“At Bisbo Records, our mission has always been to back artists who aren’t afraid to experiment and push boundaries.
Partnering with Odd Music is exciting because it embodies everything we stand for: fresh sounds, bold voices, and an unapologetically honest approach to storytelling in Bangla Pop.”
With “Shuddho Prem”, Bisbo Records and Odd Music are setting the stage for a new era of Bangla Pop — fearless, experimental, and unapologetically real.
