Real Estate Sector of Haryana Prepares for the Next Phase of Urban Growth at the National Urban and Real Estate Development Conclave

Chandigarh, 10 February 2026: Haryana’s real estate sector continues to play an important role in the state’s urban transformation, supported by sustained infrastructure development, strong industrial and commercial activity, and the rapid growth of key urban centres. As one of North India’s most dynamic urbanising states, Haryana is set to showcase its development journey and future priorities as NAREDCO Haryana leads the state’s participation at the National Urban and Real Estate Development Conclave 2026.

Scheduled to be held on 13–14 February 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, the conclave will serve as a national platform for states to share their urban development experiences and future roadmaps. Haryana’s participation will highlight its continued efforts to strengthen urban infrastructure, expand housing supply, and promote sustainable city growth across regions such as Gurugram, Faridabad, Panchkula, Sonipat, Panipat, and other emerging urban corridors.

The participation will underscore Haryana’s focus on transit-led development, integrated townships, industrial and logistics-linked real estate, rental housing initiatives, and a balanced mix of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The state’s emphasis on ease of doing business, infrastructure-driven expansion, and technology-enabled urban planning will be presented before industry stakeholders from across the country.

The conclave will bring together senior policymakers, government officials, leading developers, financial institutions, investors, urban planners, and industry experts to deliberate on the future of India’s real estate and urban development landscape. Discussions will centre on strengthening urban infrastructure, encouraging investments, adopting sustainable development practices, and leveraging technology to improve efficiency and transparency in urban growth.

Key discussions at the conclave will include transit-oriented development, rental housing, structured and sustainable redevelopment, regulatory reforms under RERA, alignment with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code and the Consumer Protection Act, institutional investments, digitisation of property transactions, proptech adoption, and affordable housing solutions. The agenda aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, recognising real estate as a critical driver of inclusive economic growth and resilient urban ecosystems.

India’s real estate sector is entering an important phase, supported by steady economic growth, rapid urbanisation, and an enabling policy environment. With urbanisation levels expected to approach 50 percent by 2047, the need for efficient, transparent, and technology-driven urban development frameworks has become increasingly important. The conclave aims to generate actionable insights that can support long-term sectoral growth, strengthen investor confidence, and enhance quality of life in urban India.

Highlighting the importance of Haryana’s participation, Mr. Parveen Jain, President, NAREDCO and President, NAREDCO Haryana, said, “Haryana is committed to driving sustainable and inclusive urban growth across the state. Through planned infrastructure, affordable housing, and technology-enabled initiatives, we are shaping cities that are livable, resilient, and investment-friendly. The conclave provides an important platform to share our experiences, learn from others, and collaborate on the future of urban development in Haryana.”

Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Chairman, NAREDCO, said, “The National Urban and Real Estate Development Conclave 2026 arrives at a crucial juncture in India’s growth trajectory. Real estate today is far more than a standalone industry—it is a key driver of economic expansion, employment generation, and urban transformation. This conclave’s focused discussions on transit-oriented development (TOD), regulatory reforms, institutional investments, and digital governance will pave the way for a transparent, resilient, and future-ready real estate ecosystem. Aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the conclave serves as a vital platform to bring together diverse stakeholders and innovative ideas, strengthening the foundation for a sustainable and globally competitive urban landscape amid India’s rapidly expanding urban population.”

ITCSF Announces MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde as New National President

Mumbai, February 10, 2026: Shiv Sena Member of Parliament Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde has been appointed National President of the Tennis Cricket Sport Federation of India (ITCSF), marking a significant step toward the professional growth of tennis cricket in the country.

Dr. Shinde was the chief guest at ITCSF’s first Annual General Meeting and press conference held in Thane. Former Thane Mayor and Shiv Sena Thane District Women’s Wing Organizer Meenakshi Shinde, along with Corporator Mandar Keni, were present as special guests. All dignitaries were felicitated on stage, following which the official ITCSF logo was unveiled.

During the event, Dr. Shinde presented appointment letters to newly appointed state and regional presidents. The appointees included Ravi Kumar Gaba (Haryana), Hemant Baniyal (Delhi NCR), Arpit Chaturvedi (Uttar Pradesh), Pradumn Pratap Gohal (Madhya Pradesh), Deepak Pawar (Maharashtra Zone 1), Rakesh Pawar (Maharashtra Zone 2), Vanrajsinh Gohil (Gujarat), Piyush Shrivastav (Purvanchal, UP), Suresh Rana (Uttarakhand), Chandan Yadav (Bihar), Arindam Dhar (West Bengal), Mr Shaffi R (Tamil Nadu), Rakesh Sharma (Rajasthan), Eshan Bhandari (Chhattisgarh), Usman Shaikh (Goa), and Arif Khan (Dubai).

In his address, Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde (MP) extended a warm welcome to the federation presidents from across the country who gathered in Thane-Mumbai. He noted that, much like the IPL, tennis cricket is witnessing a steady surge in popularity, with an increasing number of people taking up the sport. Emphasizing the need for growth, he said the time has come to introduce a professional structure for tennis cricket, as not every aspiring player can find a place in the IPL. Organizing more tennis cricket tournaments, he added, would create valuable opportunities for emerging talent, help shape their careers, and provide a strong platform to showcase their skills.

He expressed confidence that with collective effort and support, tennis cricket can reach new heights. He also highlighted that during all-party meetings, Prime Minister Narendra Modi encourages MPs to actively promote sports within their constituencies so that young athletes can progress to professional levels. Today, he remarked, almost every child dreams of becoming a cricketer, and the immense potential within cricket continues to attract widespread interest.

Dr. Shinde further stated that a promising new beginning has been made, with everyone committed to elevating tennis cricket to greater prominence. He shared that he held discussions with state federation presidents on ways to strengthen and expand the sport nationwide. Drawing parallels with the successful professionalization of “Pro Govinda” and kabaddi by his government, he affirmed the vision of transforming tennis cricket into a large, well-structured, and professionally managed platform.

  • Bridging the Gap in Global Healthcare: NIMS University Hosts iNCAHP-2026

Bridging the Gap in Global Healthcare: NIMS University Hosts iNCAHP-2026

Jaipur – While the future of medicine often focuses on new drugs and technology, the real heartbeat of the industry lies in the hands of its professionals. This January, NIMS University Rajasthan became a global hub for this human element, successfully hosting the International Conference of Allied and Healthcare Professionals (iNCAHP-2026).

The two-day event, held on January 30th and 31st, wasn’t just a meeting of minds; it was a vibrant roadmap for the future. Organized by the NIMS College of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, the conference centered on a vital theme: “Emerging Health Professionals for a Healthy Future.”

    A Global Brain Trust

The atmosphere in Jaipur was electric as over 1,260 participants arrived from 18 states and 3 Union Territories across India. They were joined by a powerhouse lineup of over 20 keynote speakers. Dr. Seri Brits, traveling from the USA, brought a global perspective to the stage, while Indian stalwarts like Dr. K. Pearlson and Dr. Sanjay Parmar shared deep academic and clinical insights.

It wasn’t just about listening, though. The conference served as a massive “think tank” with:

165+ Research Presentations: Young researchers showcasing data-driven solutions.

110+ Scientific Posters & Models: Visualizing the next generation of medical tools.

    Learning by Doing

Healthcare is a “hands-on” calling, and iNCAHP-2026 treated it as such. Surrounding the main event were intensive workshops where participants rolled up their sleeves to master modern techniques. From the precision of Dry Needling and Chiropractic treatments to the complexities of Spinal Manipulation, these sessions ensured that attendees left not just with notes, but with new skills to help their patients.

    Where Science Meets Soul

NIMS University understands that a healthcare professional needs more than just technical skill—they need empathy and cultural connection. The evenings transitioned from clinical debates to a celebration of life. Students filled the stage with classical and folk dances, a creative themed fashion show, and high-energy band performances, proving that the next generation of healers is as diverse as the patients they serve.

    Looking Ahead

As the curtains closed on February 1st, the message from the organizers was clear: iNCAHP-2026 was a catalyst. By fostering international collaboration, the conference has paved a new path for research and clinical excellence in the allied health sciences.

For the attendees, it wasn’t just a conference—it was a reminder that they are the backbone of a healthier tomorrow.

Now Open: Barcelos Brings Legendary Portuguese Flavors to Nagpur

Nagpur, India | 7 February 2026: Global Portuguese flame-grilled chicken brand Barcelos has officially entered the Indian market in partnership with Franchise India, marking a significant milestone in the country’s rapidly evolving food service sector. The internationally renowned brand, founded in South Africa in 1993, has chosen Nagpur as one of its first two Indian destinations alongside Bengaluru, signalling strong confidence in both metropolitan and emerging urban markets. With its debut outlets now operational, Barcelos aims to introduce Indian consumers to its signature flame-grilled peri-peri chicken and distinctive Portuguese-inspired culinary experience.

Operating in 17 countries with over 138 outlets worldwide, Barcelos has built a reputation for bold flavours, authentic preparation methods, and a focus on high-quality ingredients. Its entry into India comes at a time when the country’s organised quick-service restaurant (QSR) and casual dining segments are witnessing rapid expansion, fuelled by rising disposable incomes, urbanisation, and a growing appetite for global cuisines. By launching simultaneously in Bengaluru and Nagpur, the brand is positioning itself strategically to capture diverse consumer bases—from cosmopolitan diners in tech hubs to emerging food enthusiasts in fast-growing Tier-II cities.

The Nagpur opening holds particular significance, reflecting the city’s increasing prominence as a destination for international lifestyle and food brands. Once primarily known for its regional culinary scene, Nagpur has evolved into a dynamic urban centre attracting global investments in retail and hospitality. Barcelos’ presence is expected to further energise the local food ecosystem, offering residents a premium yet accessible global dining option while strengthening the city’s reputation as an emerging gastronomic hotspot.

As part of its long-term India strategy, Barcelos has announced a prospective investment of ₹100 crore over the next five years. The planned investment will support the brand’s expansion into major metros as well as high-potential emerging cities, while also focusing on supply chain development, local sourcing, workforce training, and employment generation. Industry experts note that such investments not only boost brand visibility but also contribute to strengthening India’s organised food service infrastructure, enhancing food safety standards and operational efficiencies across the sector.

Currently in India to oversee the brand’s market entry, Mr. Jared Mazzis, Director, Barcelos, is leading strategic engagements with key stakeholders, partners, and media. His visit highlights Barcelos’ commitment to building a strong local presence while preserving the authenticity and quality standards that have defined the brand globally for more than three decades. According to company representatives, the leadership team is closely studying Indian consumer preferences to tailor menus and dining experiences that resonate with local tastes without compromising the brand’s heritage.

“India represents one of the most exciting growth markets for Barcelos,” said Mr. Jared Mazzis. “With our stores opening in Bengaluru and Nagpur, we are laying the foundation for a long-term journey in the country. Our planned investment reflects our confidence in the Indian market and our commitment to delivering a world-class dining experience that blends global flavours with local preferences.”

Echoing the optimism around the brand’s expansion, Siddharth Kohli, Area Developer for Barcelos in Nagpur, emphasised the enthusiasm surrounding the launch. “It’s fantastic to see the iconic Barcelos brand arrive in India and bring its bold peri-peri experience to Nagpur. We are excited to introduce customers to premium sauces, unique flavours, and a contemporary dining environment that will contribute to the city’s vibrant food and beverage scene,” he said.

Barcelos is globally recognised for its signature flame-grilling technique, which sets it apart from conventional fried chicken offerings. The brand uses premium poultry marinated in proprietary peri-peri spice blends and cooked over open flames, resulting in a juicy, flavourful product with a lower fat content. This approach aligns with evolving consumer preferences, particularly among health-conscious urban diners seeking protein-rich meals without sacrificing taste. The menu focuses on flame-grilled chicken portions, platters, and Portuguese-inspired sides, delivering a balance between indulgence and nutritional appeal.

The Nagpur outlet has been designed to provide a vibrant and contemporary dining experience that reflects Barcelos’ Portuguese heritage while catering to modern Indian sensibilities. From its interior aesthetics to its menu offerings, the outlet aims to combine authenticity with accessibility, making it attractive to families, young professionals, and food enthusiasts alike. By positioning itself as a premium yet approachable global QSR and casual dining brand, Barcelos hopes to carve a niche among consumers looking for high-quality international flavours at competitive price points.

Looking ahead, Barcelos plans to accelerate its expansion through a combination of franchise partnerships and company-owned outlets. Industry observers believe that the brand’s strong global identity, combined with localised strategies and targeted investments, could help it establish a sustainable presence in India’s competitive restaurant landscape. With the successful launch of its first outlets and a clear roadmap for growth, Barcelos appears poised to tap into the country’s booming demand for diverse and innovative dining experiences.

About Barcelos: Founded in 1993 in South Africa, Barcelos is a globally recognised Portuguese flame-grilled chicken brand operating in 17 countries with more than 138 outlets worldwide. Known for its bold peri-peri flavours, signature sauces, and commitment to quality and authenticity, the brand continues to expand internationally while staying rooted in its rich culinary heritage.
